Description
No. 15 Lantern
This is a No.15 lantern manufactured for the Grand Trunk Railway. The lantern has a patent date of 1908 and was made sometime from the mid to late teens. The canopy is embossed with “GTR”
The globe is a slight oddity. It is a 1908 Dominion Glass on their Domco Owens mold. It has a similar shape to globes used on most RR lanterns, but it has a sharp edge and fla top compared to the rouded lip found on Wright made globes. The globe bears GTR on its center and E,T.W. C. at its upper edge. The globe was repaired.
The lantern is original and fully operational.
