Description

Approximately 24,500 were manufactured between 1915-1919. It is a 10-gauge chambered for a special shot type shell charged with special powder only intended as a flare. It is a single shot 9″ round barrel that tips downward to load. It has a brass frame and spur trigger and walnut grips.

Serial number: 6-911. Barrel markings: MARK III; THE REMINGTON ARMS-UNION METALLIC CARTRIDGE CO., INC, REMINGTON BRIDGEPORT WORKS, BRIDGEPORT, CONNECTICUT, U.S.A. Very Good Condition. Flayderman No. 5E-065

The canvas holster with a leather toe is stamped 57 A with the field artillery crossed cannons. This is the marking of the 57 Field Artillery Brigade of the Wisconsin Army National Guard, the “Iron Brigade” of WW I.
